Mario Krankl – Das Haar als Kunstobjekt

Er wird häufig mit seinen extravaganten Avantgarde- Styles assoziiert, aber was den Österreicher so besonders macht, ist seine ungewöhnliche Vielseitigkeit: Mario Krankl ist einer der meist ausgezeichneten Friseure Österreichs. Er betreibt einen exklusiven Premiumsalon in Salzburg, kreiert Frisurenstyles für Fotostrecken in Hochglanzmagazinen, arbeitet mit Top-Modefotografen, stylte bei Germanys Next Topmodel und internationalen Fashion Shows. Seine Erfolgsstory mit der Marke Goldwell begann vor über 20 Jahren. Seither arbeitete er in rund 40 Ländern weltweit, war mehrfach im Color Zoom Master Team und ist als Global Ambassador der Marke einer ihrer weltweit kreativsten Gesichter.

2011 folgte als einer der Höhepunkte seiner Karriere die erste Alternative Hair Show. Bereits ein Jahr später kreierte er die Imagekampagne für das 30. Jubiläum der Alternative Hair und zeigte eine sensationelle Show in der Royal Albert Hall in London.

Mario hat sich der Perfektion in Sachen Haare verschrieben. In seinem Salonalltag geht es ihm um die Kreation maßgeschneiderter, tragbarer Looks für die  Kunden. Als Haarkünstler will er aber mehr, er sucht nach den Trends von morgen und experimentiert in alle Richtungen. Er sei ein Freak, sagt er, wenn es um Haare geht. Mario Krankl betrachtet Haare als Kunstobjekt. Sie sind für ihn ein genialer, weil immer wieder wandelbarer Ausdruck von Individualität und Extravaganz, ein „Material“ mit dem er Wow-Effekte jenseits der Straßentauglichkeit  erschafft.

Statement:

Das Hochstecken hat für mich ebenso viel kreatives Potenzial wie Haare schneiden oder färben, aber ohne nachhaltige Veränderung. Wichtig ist, sich bei der Frisur auf einen oder wenige Schwerpunkte bezüglich Textur und Form zu fokussieren.

But as a 'hair artist' he wants more; he anticipates the trends of tomorrow and experiments with a range of different concepts. When it comes to hair, he says, he is a freak! Mario Krankl views hair as an objet d'art. For him, it is a brilliant, ever-changeable expression of individuality and extravagance, a "material" with which he can create a 'wow effect' that breaks all barriers.

Statement

For me, an updo entails just as much creative potential as a cut or colour, but without making any lasting change to the hair. When styling it is important to focus on just one, or a few main points in terms of texture and shape.
